That's the number of news "relevant to the near term inflation forecast" that our models have been identifying and processing lately, across the six languages we cover and for all regions in the world.

That's about 8 times the volume before January 2021.

About 5% of news processed are deemed relevant by the models; the total number of news processed is therefore 20 times larger.

And in case you are wondering: there is no break in the news volume around when the data collection went live in the summer 2020.

Not an artefact, the news volume increase is simply the reflection of inflation becoming #1 economic concern globally.

Feature Upgrade: Chinese News

Since earlier this week, Chinese news in the Inflation NewsBot are summarised, like we do in other languages. The coverage was more limited before.

The upgrade will not only facilitate the reading of the Chinese part of the Inflation NewsBot, it also paves the way for the development of China specific analytics, including a China NIPI which we hope to release by end of year.

As a reminder, the following languages are currently covered: Chinese, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
